The KRR LIFE program graduated 6 families on Monday, March 20, 2017.  These families participated in an 8-week program.  The next LIFE program will begin in September of 2017.  Take a look at the article in the GC Telegram.  News Article

Special Education Parent Survey

Recently, Kansas parents of students with disabilities who have IEPs and attend a public school received a notification letter asking them to complete an online Parent Survey. The survey responses are used to help guide efforts to improve services and results for children and families receiving special education services. Your responses to the 10-question survey will help guide efforts to improve services and results for children and families. Support Gertrude Walker Elementary PTO when you buy groceries

Dillons has created a way for you to help support our school PTO!  If you shop at Dillons and use a Dillons Plus card, every time you scan your Plus card at the register, Dillons will give 5% of your purchase to the Gertrude Walker Elementary PTO.

To Enroll in the Community Rewards Program:

  • Plus card members must visit www.dillons.com/communityrewards
  • Sign in OR create an account
  • Click on “Enroll Now.”
  • Enter the 5-digit NPO (Gertrude Walker Elementary PTO is 32482) and search.
  • Select your organization and click on “Enroll.”

Get Ready For 2017– 2018 School Year!

Enrollment:

Preprinted forms will be sent home the week of April 18th.  Every student will have an envelope with their form in it.  Please be sure and check your address and phone numbers.  Also, please be sure and sign the first and last page.  We would like the forms to come back as soon as possible. If they are not returned by or on May 4th it will be considered a late enrollment and your child may lose his/her spot at Gertrude Walker Elementary. Kindergartners for 2017-18 (children who are 5 on or before August 31st) who live in the Gertrude Walker area must enroll at Gertrude Walker on May 4th.   You will need to bring birth certificate, shot records and social security card.  Please plan on staying at least one hour for kindergarten screening. Exception:  Students being retained in Kindergarten.  Please let us know if your child attended Garfield Early Childhood Center we will have a pre-printed form for them. Fourth graders going to fifth grade next year will need to go to Sitts or Stones Intermediate Centers to enroll.  Don’t forget to take your preprinted forms.
